California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection
San Andreas - Last night the Sheriff's Department issued mandatory evacuations on Love Creek Road and the Doud's Landing area and an advisory for Pinebrook. This morning an advisory notice has also been issued to residents in the Blue Lake Springs Subdivision from Hwy. 4 and Moran Road south to Murphys Drive. The advisory notice is a precautionary measure to prepare residents in case evacuations become necessary. Residents traveling on the Hwy. 4 corridor should use extreme caution while driving. Do not stop in the middle of the road to look at the fire. Residents should prepare to evacuate by bringing any medications, prescriptions, the name of your physicians and any special equipment needed for several days. Persons with special transportation needs are asked to call the Calaveras Sheriff's Office in Arnold at 795-0473. Have valuable papers, such as deeds, mortgage papers, insurance documents, birth certificates, and photographs packed and in the car. The Darby Fire has now consumed
over 8,912 acres and is still 50% contained. There was increased
activity last night in the Cone Hill, Doud's Landing, and Candy
Rock area in Calaveras County. Gusty and erratic winds are expected
today due to the possibility of developing thunder storms over
the fire area. There are 228 engines and 2,796 fire personnel.
A CDF Fire Information Center is open and can be called at 754-2739, 754-4692, and 754-5773. Other information may be found at the CDF Website at www.fire.ca.gov and the County's Website at www.co.calaveras.ca.us.
