CALAVERAS COMPLEX FIRES An Infra-red Imaging flight was conducted today over the Armstrong, Mineral and Copper fires. This imaging will show any hot spots inside and outside the perimeter of the fire. Firefighters will focus their efforts on mitigating any potential for flare-ups. Two minor injuries have been reported to date. Heat and fatigue continue to be monitored closely, as anticipated higher temperatures and low humidity are expected. Be aware of heavy fire and PG&E equipment working in and around the burn areas. Also expect and prepare for additional traffic on local roadways, as Fire Equipment is released from the incident and make their way to their home units. Plan for possible delays during Monday morning’s commute. Fullen Road remains closed primarily due to heavy equipment moving on the roadway and working in that area. Residents on Fullen Road have not been allowed to return home as yet. Although returning evacuated residents to their homes is a high priority, safety must be the primary concern. The Incident Command Team will be continually re-evaluated the situation. Avery-Sheep Ranch Road, Murphys-Sheep Ranch Road, Sheep Ranch Road and Armstrong Road have been opened to residents only. -End- |
