CALAVERAS COMPLEX INCIDENT

Copper Fire 3,445 Acres 90% Contained
        Location: Telegraph Road area off Hwy. 4

Mineral Fire 876 Acres 65% Contained
        Location: Sheep Ranch Road and Fullen Road area.

Armstrong Fire 82 Acres 90% Contained
        Location: Sheep Ranch Road and Armstrong Road area.

Start Date for all three fires: August 6, 2004

Investigators have determined that the Copper Fire, which began as three separate fires along Highway 4, was caused by a vehicle traveling East Bound on Highway 4 with mechanical problems. The Mineral and Armstrong fires are still under investigation.

Evacuations: Avery Sheep Ranch Road is now open to residents only.
Fullen Road is still closed.

Evacuation Center: Avery Middle School – now closed

Incident Command Post and Incident Base located at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds.

Structures Burned: One Mobile Home, and one wooden structure.

Injuries: One minor injury

PG&E will be working in the Fullen Road Area repairing power poles.
